Before choosing an inside mount, please measure the depth of your window frame. This helps ensure your shades can be installed securely and look the way you expect.
There are three depth levels to check: Recommended Depth, Minimum Depth, and Special Mounting Depth.
1. Recommended Depth
Recommended Depth is the ideal depth for an inside mount.
When your window meets the Recommended Depth, the shade can fit better inside the window frame, creating a cleaner and more flush appearance. This also provides the best overall look and function.
2. Minimum Depth
If your window depth does not meet the Recommended Depth, please check whether it meets the Minimum Depth.
At this depth, each bracket can still be secured with two screws, so the shade can be installed safely and securely.
Please note that the shade may slightly protrude from the window frame, but this will not affect its normal function.
3. Special Mounting Depth
If your window depth is less than the Minimum Depth, Special Mounting Depth is available in limited cases.
It is only used when the window frame is too shallow for a regular inside mount, but there is still enough space to secure at least one mounting hole on each bracket.
At this depth, each bracket can only be secured with one screw. For better support, we recommend adding extra brackets across the width of the shade.
Please also note that the shade will protrude more from the window frame.
When placing your order, you may leave a note such as:
My window frame depth is limited. Please include extra brackets for additional support.
Depth Requirements by Shade Type
Please refer to the chart below to check the required depth for your shade type and valance style.
Important Note Before Ordering
Before placing your order, please carefully measure your window frame depth and compare it with the depth requirements for your selected shade type and valance style.
If your window depth is too shallow for a standard inside mount, you may consider one of the following options:
- Choose inside mount with Minimum Depth if two mounting holes can be used.
- Choose Special Mounting Depth if at least one mounting hole can be secured and extra brackets are added.
- Choose outside mount if you prefer a cleaner appearance or if your frame depth is not sufficient for a secure inside mount.
