This article provides detailed mounting instructions for the following types of shades:Roller Shades, Zebra Shades, Shangri-La Sheer Shades, Dual Shades, Cellular Shades, Cordless Roman Shades, Plain Fold Roman Shades, Soft Fold Roman Shades.
When installing shades, selecting the appropriate mounting method ensures optimal function and appearance. There are two main types of installations: Inside Mount and Outside Mount. Each has options based on your window frame’s structure and available space.
Inside Mount
An inside mount installs the shade within the window frame, offering a streamlined, built-in look. There are two primary installation methods for inside mounts:
Top Mount
If your window frame has sufficient depth and top surface space, top mounting—attaching the brackets to the top of the window frame—is the ideal choice for a secure and clean installation.Side Mount
Attaching the brackets to the side surfaces of the window frame is suitable when the top of the frame lacks a flat or accessible area for bracket installation, or when the frame depth is insufficient for top mounting.
For side mount installation, please indicate “Side Mount” in the order notes. We will include the correct brackets and adjust the measurements to ensure proper fit within the frame. For detailed gap specifications, refer to this link.
Outside Mount
An outside mount places the shade outside the window frame, either on the wall or above the window trim. This is suitable when the window frame is too shallow or when a larger coverage area is desired.
Wall Mount
If space permits, wall mounting is the most secure and aesthetically pleasing choice for outside installations.
