This guide applies to: Cellular Shades, Plain Fold Roman Shades, and Soft Fold Roman Shades
If your shade is not responding to the remote control or the wireless wall switch, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
Check the Power Switch on the Shade
Ensure the power switch located at the top of the shade valance is turned on.Charge the Motor Battery
The battery may be drained. Plug in the charger and allow the motor to charge for 6–8 hours.
Please ensure the battery is fully charged—the indicator light should turn solid green.
If you are not using the original SmartWave charger, make sure your charger supports 5V / 2A output to avoid charging issues.Replace the Remote or Wall Switch Battery
If the remote control or wireless wall switch is unresponsive, the battery may be dead. Replace it with a new battery and test again.Power Cycle the Shade
Turn off the power switch on the shade, wait for about 1 minute, then turn it back on. This may help reset the connection.-
Reset and Initial Setup
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, the motor may need to be reset. Refer to Shade Reset & Initial Setup.Note: If pressing and holding the programming button does not trigger any response from the shade, remove the shade from the mounting brackets and check the following:
Use the rear programming button: There is an additional programming button located on the back of the shade (next to a secondary charging port). Try pressing and holding this button to reset.
Check the internal connector: Inspect the plug connecting the motor and the motor controller inside the headrail. Ensure it is securely connected. We recommend unplugging and reconnecting it firmly.
