How to Replace Your Motor After Receiving a Replacement (For Cellular Shade Motors) – SmartWave Shades

If you received a replacement motor, follow these steps to safely remove the old motor and install the new one.

This guide applies to: Cellular Shades, Plain Fold Roman Shades, and Soft Fold Roman Shades

Fully roll up the fabric to the top before starting.
Carefully detach the shades from the mounting brackets to access and replace the old motor with the new one.
Before starting the replacement, please turn off the power switch located at the top of the shade’s valance.
If your motor is Matter-enabled:
The new motor’s aluminum tube includes a small plastic bag containing two new Matter QR code labels.
Remove the old Matter labels from your shade and replace them with the new labels, placing them in the same locations to ensure proper device recognition.

Follow the video instructions to remove the old motor and motor controller, and install the new ones.

After installing the new motor, securely reattach the shades to the mounting brackets.
Follow the instructions to reset and initialize the motor properly.

If you are using a Matter motor, please reconnect your shades to your smart control app.

Important: When scanning the QR code for pairing, always use the newest code provided with your motor. Do not scan any old codes.
