If you received a replacement motor, follow these steps to safely remove the old motor and install the new one.
This guide applies to: Roller Shades, Dual Roller Shades, Zebra Shades, Shangri-La Shades, Woven Wood Shades, Cordless Roman Shades, and Outdoor Shades
Step 1: Detach the Shades from the Brackets and Prepare for Motor Replacement
- Fully roll up the fabric to the top before starting. (If the shade cannot be raised, manually roll the fabric from the bottom hem to the top to prevent wrinkles.)
-
Carefully detach the shades from the mounting brackets to access and replace the old motor with the new one.
If your motor is Matter-enabled:
The new motor’s aluminum tube includes a small plastic bag containing two new Matter QR code labels.
Remove the old Matter labels from your shade and replace them with the new labels, placing them in the same locations to ensure proper device recognition.
Step 2: Determine Which Drive Adapter and Crown Set to Use
Install the correct set based on your order width:
| Shade Type | Order Width Less Than | Use Model | Order Width Equal or Greater | Use Model |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Roller, Dual Roller, Zebra, Shangri-La, Woven Wood, Cordless Roman Shades | Less than 87 inches | RZ2507A / RH2507A | 87 inches or greater | RZ2509 / RH2509 |
| Outdoor Shades | Less than 71 inches | RZ2507A / RH2507A | 71 inches or greater | RZ2509 / RH2509 |
Some motors may arrive with RZ2507A Drive Adapter + RH2507A Crown pre-installed. If this set matches your order width, keep it and skip to Step 3; otherwise, replace it with the RZ2509 Drive Adapter + RH2509 Crown included in the package.
